Promotion

For my film, I need to carefully construct a plan on the way I will promote it. The film is a horror/sci-fi so I will be looking at a target audience of between the ages of 15-50. The colour scheme is important to allow the audience to engage in what the movie is going to give you: what type of film you are viewing. The colour scheme i have chosen is quite dull and mostly monochromatic with black and white as a base. There are hints of a dull pink/red colour that appear in certain images to unite the poster and banner designs. Another idea for promoting my movie is to be showing previews on late night television when children are not watching. The poster is overall quite distorted and gives that impression of paranormal phenomena. The intention i had by distorting the images was to ultimately give the viewer the creeps :) The font is straight and uniform, suiting the poster really well. it is not distracting from the images but still stands out. This poster is purely about visual language and interpretation as it is for a horror film. Horror film evoke different emotions in everyone so by keeping the images simple, it allows the viewer to construct their own scary tale.
